Scuba diving in the Grand Cayman Islands has left many a diver incredulous with the variety of dive adventures that one can expect to experience here. As one of the world's most popular vacation destinations the Cayman Islands consists of three tropical islands located in the western region of the Caribbean Sea. The economy centers on tourism which makes it easier and convenient to plan any type of vacation here. A vacation to the Cayman Islands isn't complete until you visit one of their incredible scuba diving locations.

The Grand Cayman's gained its reputation as being one of the greatest places to scuba dive in the world because of its incredibly clear waters and its location to the Cayman Wall. The Cayman Wall is actually the sides of a large underwater mountain whose peaks are the Cayman Islands themselves. The sides of this mountain are steep and even vertical in some places. This feature has created an exciting kind of scuba diving known as "wall diving."

The Grand Cayman Island consists of four main diving areas: the East End, the South Side, The North Wall, and Seven Mile Beach. The walls of the Grand Cayman include large coral reef beds which vary in different depths. Within the coral reef beds are many species of colorful tropical fish which is a delight to the eye and lens of a camera. With a spectacular variety of coral reefs and sea creatures such as several species of sting ray and the friendly tarpon these sites have something to offer for all divers of all levels and experience. In fact, all of the creatures are considered friendly and safe to dive amongst.

Since the Grand Cayman Island's economy relies on tourism and activities such as scuba diving, many businesses are waiting for you to inquire about the tours and services they offer. Many will have scuba diving gear for you to rent or buy, and will offer diving classes for first timers or more experienced divers. In fact, spending your entire vacation scuba diving is something many people do. If you're looking for a once in a life time experience by enjoying tropical weather, and seeing a whole new world, then make sure your next vacation includes scuba diving at the Grand Cayman Island.
